Myagmarsuren outsprints compatriot as Hu Hao punctures

Mongolia keeps winning in the Genghis Khan MTB Adventure in Xiwuqi, which started today with the classic 63km stage from Nadamu to Culture Square. Baasankhuu Myagmarsuren outsprinted his teammate Mendbayar Ulambayar, but they also benefitted from a puncture suffered by Hu Hao and a helping hand by Fraser Young late in the race.


Mongolian 1-2-3 in time trial

Contrary to expectations this year the Ulanbaatar mountainbike armada once again seems to be on top of the field. All five of their young riders in this morning's time trial over 5.8km around Nadamu Arena entered the top five of the result. Say no more.



Linus Holmsater aims for second Grassland Marathon win

Beijing-based Swede Linus Holmsater starts as favourite tomorrow to win his second consecutive Grassland Marathon in Xiwuqi. The 7th edition of the trail running race will see a record 920 runners at the starting line divided over three distances. Wang Lidong also defends his King of the Grasslands crown.

Genghis Khan MTB looking for a new champ

The 8th Genghis Khan Festival in Inner Mongolia's Xiwuqi opens this Friday afternoon with the traditional 63km long first stage of the 3-day mountainbike adventure race. No fewer than 1200 participants will either bike or run through some of the most breathtaking grassland scenery in China this year - a new record for the organisation.

One week to go!

Only one week left to go until the start of the 8th Genghis Khan Festival in Xiwuqi, the grassland town 2 hours north of regional city Xilinhot. A record 1200 participants will be taking part in either the 3-day mountainbike stage race or the Grassland Marathon run. Some even do both in an attempt to be crowned King of the Grasslands.
